c. The works of this era were based on religion so it is regarded as the religious period.
Famous Figures of this Era:
John Milton: The puritan era is famous especially for John Milton who was a great poet of the era. Most of the time of his life had passed by reading. He read a lot of things and gathered huge knowledge about many things. By reading and reading he became blind. When he was blind he had created his two famous epics. The epics are: a. Paradise Lost and b. Paradise Regained. He had made a revolution in the field of English Literature.
His personal life was not so happy. He was so serious to his wife and followed strict principles but his wife could not endure it.

John Bunyan (1628-1688): Bunyan is an extra-ordinary figure of Puritan period. His writings are, Grace Abounding, The holy War, Pilgrim’s Progress, The Life and Death of Mr. Bradman.
