Nakshi kantha is a kind of embroidered (sewed, sewn, inflated) quilt. The name was taken from the Bengali word, ‘naksha’ which means artistic (creative, imaginative, inventive) pattern (design, pattern, shape, form, decoration). It is a kind of traditional craft (skill, ability) and is said to be indigenous (native, local, original, homegrown) to Bangladesh and West Bengal in India.
