a. The old ideas have been broken.
b. Some literary men have been driven out from England by the king.
c. One of the most common features of this era was directness and simplicity of expression; for this excellent tendency our literature is greatly indebted.
Poet: John Donne (1631-1700)
Famous works: All for love, Antony and Cleopatra, Absalom and Achitophel etc.
Other works: Indian Queen, Indian Emperor, Sir Martin Maral, The Secret Love, Tribasic Love, The Conquest of Granda, The Assination, The Kind Keeper etc.
Samuel Butler (1612-1680): Samuel Butler is a poet who had worked hard. Though he studied a lot; but he was unable to gather the education of university. He had gained a lot of experience from his study. He noticed all the events of the society of that time very carefully. But the last part of his life was full of sorrows and sufferings. His greatest creation is Hudibras.
William Congreve (1670-1729): He was born in a noble family and studied in Ireland. He also studied in Dublin. He wrote four famous comedies and three tragedies. His dramas are as followed:
a. The Old Bachelor.
b. The Double Dealer
c. Love for Love
d. The Way of the World
