Discourse: Discourse is a process from where we can learn how the rules of language work, speech patterns about communication, uses of language, idioms and acceptable statements in a community. It refers to larger units of language such as- paragraph, conversation and interview. So it is clear to us that the language which is used for communication is called discourse.
Discourse Analysis: Discourse analysis is a qualitative method which helps a reader to find out the style, theme, sentence pattern, and the hidden motives of a written text and the purpose of the writer after reading or analyzing a text or dialogue or story.
In linguistics, discourse analysis is a formal study of the ways in which sentences are connected into larger units of speech or writing. Use of the term often indicates a desire to study specific contexts of linguistics and literary usage rather than the abstract codes of language in general.
Discourse analysis deals with- how the choice of articles pronounces and tenses affects the structure of discourse.
