Dear Rifat,

How are you? I am not fine at all because I have learnt that you are mixing up with bad boys and also started smoking. Hearing it I become shocked and still now I cannot believe the news. I hope it may be wrong.

You are an intelligent boy and can easily realize the bad effect of smoking. It is a dangerous habit and it damages our lungs. By dint of it man loses his longevity and it is also responsible for many diseases like cancer, bronchitis, heart attacks etc. It also spoils human brain, damages the nerves of human brain and wastes of money. Many bad habits are formed by dint of it and cigarettes carry many virus of disease. It also spoils human characters and destroys social happiness. So, I hope you will give up smoking.

No more today, convey my regards to your parents and love to the Younger.

Your elder brother

Murad

Smoking is one of the most common forms of recreational drug use.Smoking is one of the leading causes of preventable death globally.Male and female smokers lose an average of 13.2 and 14.5 years of life, respectively. At least half of all lifelong smokers die earlier as a result of smoking. The risk of dying from lung cancer before age 85 is 22.1% for a male smoker and 11.9% for a female current smoker, in the absence of competing causes of death.

Cigarettes contain more than 4000 chemical compounds and at least 400 toxic substances. When you inhale, a cigarette burns at 700°C at the tip and around 60°C in the core. This heat breaks down the tobacco to produce various toxins.

Research has shown that smoking reduces life expectancy by seven to eight years.

Of the 300 people who die every day in the UK as a result of smoking, many are comparatively young smokers. The number of people under the age of 70 who die from smoking-related diseases exceeds the total figure for deaths caused by breast cancer, AIDS, traffic accidents and drug addiction.

Thanks & best wishes to you.
